The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for PROTECTA Pilipinas


The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for PROTECTA Pilipinas, signed on February 12, 2025, establishes a public-private initiative to safeguard technology and telecom infrastructure in the Philippines. The ICT Industry Council (ICTIC) has signed up with PROTECTA Pilipinas, alongside the Cyber Crime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC). The MOU's objectives include raising awareness, promoting resilience, collaborating with government agencies, monitoring infrastructure health, reporting threats, advocating for legal protection, and fostering best practices. Responsibilities are assigned to telecom companies, CitizenWatch/Infrawatch, law enforcement agencies, and the CICC, which will coordinate responses and maintain incident logs. The MOU also includes provisions for dispute resolution, termination, and non-disclosure. The agreement was signed at the National Cybercrime Hub in Taguig City.
